Handmade Stoneware Jug

Delivery and returns

A simple white jug is a thing of such modest and versatile beauty that examples of it have been ever-present in well-stocked, industrious kitchens for centuries. Resplendent when stuffed full of flowers as the centrepiece of a table, the humble jug can look fresh when filled with spring blooms and dramatic as a vessel for a Christmas bouquet against crisp winter white.

Ever hard-working, it keeps water cool at a languid summer lunch in the garden; is classic for containing milk on the breakfast table; and looks sublime on a grey dresser surrounded by other white ceramics, all set off by tendrils of green foliage. The Handmade Stoneware Jug, with its elegant and understated milky glaze, can be, then, anything you want it to be, changing and adjusting as each season supplants the next.

Hand-thrown and handmade in Rebecca Williams’ south coast of England studio, it takes some three to four days to make; it is fitting, then, that it is a piece that will last a lifetime.

Happily, this is dishwasher and microwave safe.

Do note that, being handmade, each piece will vary slightly to characterful effect.
