All hail the season of al fresco picnics and long yawning days spent sharing food, shooting the breeze under the warmth of the resplendent sun. For picnic inspiration, this year we turn to Turkey, from where we have sourced these hand-crafted, artisan-made blue enamel mugs, created only using natural raw materials. Shot through with arresting painterly inky daubs and joyfully vivid, they are the very thing for lashings of icy punch on a hot day, or a drop of wine on a warm summer’s evening. Happily, they can be washed in the dishwasher without harm to their colour or design; they’re 100 percent recyclable; and they can withstand both the freezer and temperatures of up to 250ºC in the oven. What’s more, each wonderful azure pattern will vary slightly due to their handmade nature, making a collection of them en masse at a big convivial picnic even more effective.
