It’s that wonderful time of year when we get to pull together a completely extravagant Christmas wish list in the hope that one day the items on it will replace the usual novelty socks or chocolate orange. There are some beautiful pieces currently catching our eye which made this years list incredibly easy. A firm favourite is the gorgeous woven-wood backpack, a graduation project by Line Rosenlund Jensen, each handcrafted bag is made from a complimentary mix of willow, leather and felted wool. Also on the wish list is an illustration by Kate Pugsley, we would highly recommend a visit to Kate’s blog, which features an array of hand painted characters, Kate’s Hillary Clinton interpretation is particularly brilliant.

This week Jessica (@jmpsmithdesign) has caught our eye with her fantastically floral Instagram. Jessica is a gardener, grower and floral designer based in Bath, all the flowers documented on her instagram feed are grown in her allotment, keeping her account constantly seasonal. We’ve been delighted to see how Jessica has been styling our Mini Mae Candelabra (centre image), over the coming months she will be draping it with greenery and lichen covered branches or nestling it within wreaths for a seasonal table display. We highly recommend a visit to Jessica’s instagram feed to see more of her work and to follow her floral musings: @jmpsmithdesign

Savour early Autumn evenings with candlelight dinners and cosy nights in by the fire. Peruse our new arrivals for the new seasons here.

As Halloween beckons, we find that we’re unable to do anything or go anywhere without being greeted by an assortment of pumpkins. It’s believed that the custom of carving Jack-o’-lanterns was originally intended to keep harmful spirits out of your home, whereas nowadays it’s used as quite the opposite to welcome trick or treaters to our doors. We all enjoy the challenge of carving pumpkins, however we’re not as good at creating something edible with them, therefore we’ve tried to hunt down a tasty recipe to enjoy this halloween, after all we’d much prefer a sweet treat than a trick any day…Halloween Pumpkin Squares (recipe courtesy of House & Garden magazine)

These fresh, sunny, autumnal days are ideal for gardeners. There’s always plenty to do at this time of year, whether it’s clearing in preparation for spring, planting bulbs or harvesting your late summer crops. The days may be cooler and shorter but we love spending misty mornings tidying the cottage garden in preparation for next year. We’re still enjoying some autumn colour from our salvias, asters and verbena, all nicely bulked out with an assortment of fading grasses adding height and texture to the beds.

With the start of the new season we always find ourselves seeking out favourite pieces to refresh our home, office and wardrobe. As the Autumn commences we’ve been gravitating towards warmer neutrals, perfectly complimented by pops of pink and coral. With the revival of macrame we’re seeing a continued popularity in woven constructions, whether it’s wall hangings, fashion accessories or furniture, we’re particularly fond of the ‘Cane’ collection featured top right. Designed by Atelier 2+ and manufactured by PODIUM factory, this traditionally made cane furniture in contemporary shapes has a unique quality that gives warmth and timeless texture to any interior space.
